Our Process

Many restoration shops cringe at the thought of stripping and refinishing delicate wood trim. Some go so far as to cover the damaged parts with leather, while others simply slap a couple coats of varnish on and send out an inferior product. Here we take pride in our quality workmanship.

We carefully remove the old finish, taking care to preserve the original veneers. In extreme cases we re-laminate damaged veneer. After the wood is stripped and stained to the original wood tones, we apply numerous layers of UV protected and water resistant finish, taking time between each coat to remove any imperfections.

Often this process requires up to 20 layers, but the resulting product achieves a finish that equals the beauty and surpasses the durability of the original. Finally, we apply hand-rubbed wax to ensure a vibrant luster sure to last for years to come. This process normally takes 6 to 8 weeks, but our satisfied customers from coast to coast assure us that it's well worth the wait.
